The app features: account creation and authentication via email, habit tracking with daily completions and streak tracking, journal entries with mood tracking, an XP and achievement system, AI-powered personalized routines and a daily mentor chat, friend connections via friend codes for accountability and leaderboard competition, and in-app purchases for premium features (Pro and Elite tiers). The app collects user data to provide personalized content, track progress, and enable social features.

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register on the Services, express interest in our products and Services, participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise contact us. The personal information we collect may include:

- usernames
- contact or authentication data
- age
- personal development information
Sensitive Information. When necessary, with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we process the following categories of sensitive information: health data, and emotional and mental health data.
Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment, such as your payment instrument number and the associated security code. All payment data is handled and stored by Apple and RevenueCat. Their privacy notices are available at apple.com/privacy and revenuecat.com/privacy. Payments are processed through Apple's App Store. RevenueCat handles subscription management and does not store credit card information. Users are billed monthly for Pro ($9.99) or Elite ($19.99) subscriptions.
Social Media Login Data. We may provide you with the option to register using your existing social media account. If you choose to register this way, we will collect certain profile information from that provider as described in "How Do We Handle Your Social Logins?" below.
Application Data. If you use our application, we may collect Mobile Device Access (such as storage and Apple HealthKit, with your permission), Mobile Device Data (such as device ID, model, OS, IP address), and Push Notifications data. You may change permissions at any time in your device settings.

In Short: Some information — such as IP address and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services. This includes Log and Usage Data, Device Data, and crash reporting and analytics via Sentry (which you can opt out of in settings).

In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We process personal information for purposes including:
- To facilitate account creation, authentication, and account management.
- To deliver and facilitate delivery of services to the user.
- To respond to user inquiries and offer support.
- To send administrative information.
- To fulfill and manage your orders, payments, returns, and exchanges.
- To enable user-to-user communications.
- To request feedback.
- To protect our Services, including fraud monitoring and prevention.
- To identify usage trends and improve our Services.
- To save or protect an individual's vital interest.
- To provide personalized AI-powered features. We use personal information including user goals, habits, mood entries, journal entries, and onboarding answers to generate personalized morning routines, AI mentor chat responses, and daily habit recommendations. This data is processed by Claude AI (Anthropic).
- To monitor app performance and security.
3. What Legal Bases Do We Rely On?
In Short: We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason under applicable law — such as your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to fulfill our contractual obligations, to protect your rights, or to fulfill our legitimate business interests.
If you are located in the EU or UK, the legal bases we may rely on include: Consent, Performance of a Contract, Legitimate Interests, Legal Obligations, and Vital Interests.
If you are located in Canada, we may process your information with your express or implied consent, which you can withdraw at any time. In limited exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted to process your information without consent.
4. When and With Whom Do We Share Personal Information?
In Short: We may share information in specific situations and with the following third parties:

We may also share your personal information during business transfers (mergers, sales, financing, or acquisitions) and with other users when you post or share content in public areas of the Services.
5. Do We Offer Artificial Intelligence-Based Products?
In Short: Yes — we offer products, features, and tools powered by AI, machine learning, and similar technologies ("AI Products"). We provide these through third-party providers, including Anthropic. Your input, output, and personal information will be shared with and processed by these AI Service Providers.
Our AI Products are designed for personalized recommendations, conversational AI, content generation, and data analysis. To opt out, contact us or delete your account.
5a. What Specific Data Do We Send to Our AI Provider (Anthropic)?
When you use RiseGrind's AI-powered features (AI Mentor chat, personalized routine generation, and journal insights), the following data may be sent to Anthropic to generate your personalized responses:
- Your chat messages and conversation history with the AI Mentor
- Your habit streak, XP, and completion rate
- Health data you've connected, such as step count and sleep duration, if applicable
- Onboarding responses, including your goals, obstacles, and motivation style
- Journal entries you choose to have analyzed
This data is used solely to generate your personalized AI responses and is not used by Anthropic to train their models on your data beyond what is described in Anthropic's own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy.
You will be asked to acknowledge this data sharing the first time you use an AI-powered feature in the app.
6. How Do We Handle Your Social Logins?
If you register or log in using a third-party social media account, we may receive profile information such as your name, email address, friends list, and profile picture. We use this information only for purposes described in this Privacy Notice. We are not responsible for how the social media provider uses your personal information.
7. Is Your Information Transferred Internationally?
Our servers are located in Germany, Switzerland, and the United States. Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. For EEA, UK, or Swiss residents, we use the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and comparable safeguards. Relevant DPAs include: Supabase, RevenueCat, and Anthropic.
8. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When we no longer have a legitimate business need to process it, we will either delete or anonymize it.
9. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect any personal information we process. However, no transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Always access the Services within a secure environment.
10. What Are Your Privacy Rights?
Depending on your region (EEA, UK, Switzerland, Canada, or certain US states), you may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and the right not to be subject to automated decision-making. We do not sell personal information.
